Stephen Frears received a knighthood on his birthday.

Stephen Frears, who is best known for directing movies about real-life characters and kings and queens, has received a knighthood as part of the birthday honours. Stephen frears was born in Leicestor, United Kingodm . He studied at the University of Cambridge. Frears spent the majority of his early directing career working primarily for the BBC but also on commercial television projects.

After graduating from the university,Stephen initially pursued a career in law before deciding to work as an assistant stage manager at London’s Royal Court, which led to employment as an assistant director on films by Lindsay Anderson and Karel Reisz. In 1971, he directed Gumshoe, his first feature film. After working in television for the following 12 years, she made a comeback to the movie industry with My Beautiful Laundrette.

Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer, Annette Bening, Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, and Meryl Streep are among the seven performances Stephen Frears has directed who have received Oscar nominations.

The Queen (2006), Philomena (2013), and Dangerous Liaisons (1988), all directed by Stephen Frears, were all nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture. Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, a documentary on the boxer’s opposition to serving in Vietnam, was also produced by Stephen Frears.

In 2022, he released The Lost King, a movie about an amateur historian who discovered King Richard III’s long-lost remains in a parking lot in Leicester.
Frears is also well-known for his work on a number of television shows, including Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, The Deal, and the television series Fail Safe, among others.
