DeSantis engaged in a car accident’ in Tennessee.

Florida governor and potential Republican presidential nominee Ron DeSantis was involved in a car accident on Tuesday while out campaigning.

DeSantis’ press secretary, Bryan Griffin, sent the following statement to the media: This morning, the governor was involved in an automobile accident while driving to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is unharmed, as is his team.

We are grateful for the nation’s prayers and good wishes for his continued safety while campaigning.

Even though the multiple-indicted former president Donald Trump is almost 30 points ahead of DeSantis, 44, in most polling averages and in early voting states, DeSantis is still in second place in the primary race.

The governor reportedly wants to restart his campaign one month before the first Republican debate.

The collision occurred on Tuesday when “traffic slowed and four motorcade cars collided,” according to News Channel 9, an ABC affiliate station in Chattanooga.

Additionally, the source claimed that one DeSantis staff member “had minor injuries” but “went on to the campaign stop [to] be treated there.”

DeSantis attended many events and fundraisers in Tennessee. The governor would keep to his schedule, a spokeswoman informed the Florida media.
