At the Royal Albion hotel in Brighton, a fire breaks out

Emergency services report that heavy winds are hampering their efforts to put out a fire that has started at a hotel in Brighton.

The Royal Albion hotel on the beachfront was contacted by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFR) at 5:24 p.m.

People were advised to avoid the area near the city’s Old Steine Avenue, and locals were instructed to keep their windows shut as smoke erupted from the third-floor fire.

The fire department stated that because of the “difficult conditions” that the strong winds were “creating,” personnel should expect to continue fighting the fire far into the night. They affirmed that there had been no recorded casualties.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is still on the scene of a fire in Brighton that has now spread to 15 appliances, according to a spokesman for the organization. The area has been equipped with an incident command center.

In addition to the Sussex Police, the Environment Agency, and the Water Board, we are collaborating with other emergency services and organizations.

Wherever feasible, locals are encouraged to stay away from the area.At the Royal Albion hotel in Brighton’s Old Steine, Sussex police said: “We are assisting the fire department.

For the duration of the incident, the Old Steine and a portion of Kings Road have been closed. We ask the general population to avoid the area.

When the fire broke out, thousands of people marched in the south-coast city to demand equal rights for transgender people on the occasion of Trans Pride Brighton’s 10th anniversary.

The event is thought to have drawn 30,000 demonstrators, contrary to organizers’ expectations of 5,000 to 10,000 participants, which were cut in half after a change in the planned path due to a yellow weather warning for wind and rain.

While Brighton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas was one of the speakers that day, comedian Eddie Izzard was also seen participating. Later on Saturday, Raphael Hill, the first openly trans councillor in Brighton and Hove, gave a speech to Trans Pride Brighton, which they described as “a real privilege.”
