Actor Julian Sands was found dead in the California mountains months after going missing.

Where the British actor Julian Sands vanished five months ago in a mountainous region of southern California, hikers have discovered human remains, according to officials. After finding human remains some 40 miles away, the hikers got in touch with the Fontana sheriff’s station.

Five months after going missing while trekking in the California mountains, US officials have officially verified the death of British actor Julian Sands, 65.

The body was found at 10 a.m. on Saturday in a remote area close to Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains, and it was taken to the coroner’s office to be identified the following week.

Three days after Julian Sands’s body parts were discovered in the southern California hills where he vanished five months prior, his death as a British actor has been officially certified.

He lived in Los Angeles and was an enthusiastic hiker and mountaineer. On January 13, he left for a walk at Mount Baldy, which is located to the east of the city. Winter storms in the area were very destructive.

His family made its first comment since Sands vanished on Friday. In the statement, it was stated that “we remain to hold Julian in our thoughts with bright memories of him as an amazing dad, partner, explorer, admirer of the environment and artistic endeavours, and as a creative and collaborative performer.”

Sands relocated to the US after it became successful in order to work in Hollywood.

In the horror fantasy films “Warlock” from 1989 and its follow-up, he played the titular role. Sands portrayed a spider-specialist entomologist in the 1990 horror comedy “Arachnophobia,” starring Jeff Daniels and John Goodman.

On TV shows like “24,” “Medici,” “Smallville,” “Dexter,” “Gotham,” and “Elementary,” he further made guest appearances or appeared regularly. The Ghosts of Monday, his final picture, was released in 2022.

His journalistic wife Evgenia Citkowitz, with whom he had two daughters, is his only surviving spouse.
