According to Zelensky, a Russian strike targeted a blood transfusion centre in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserts that a Russian bomb destroyed a blood transfusion facility in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine.

Zelensky claimed on social media that a “guided air bomb” had struck the centre of Kupiansk, a city a few dozen kilometres from the Russian border.

He stated, “Rescuers are extinguishing the fire,” and added, “This wartime criminal simply says all about Russian aggression.”

The alleged attack happened soon after Zelensky claimed that Russian missiles had struck a Motor Sich facility in Ukraine, one of many businesses the government has taken control of since Moscow’s invasion.

Around 300 kilometres (190 miles) southwest of Kyiv, in western Ukraine, the Motor Sich location was close to Khmelnytskyi.

Russian airstrikes have often been directed towards the Khmelnytskyi region in recent months, which is hundreds of kilometres away from the front lines of the battle and is home to a significant Ukrainian airbase.

The Russian assaults came a day after another Russian ship was struck in the Black Sea and after Ukraine launched a drone attack overnight on a Russian tanker near the Kerch Strait.
